I think in life , i want to major in like , becoming a Lawyer or something , like criminal justice . Also , i dont think we did present in class yet or something . I do have questions about uvm , like im really confused still . Like if the school divided into sections or something because theres like alot of majors in there ? For what reasons can people get kicked out ?

Awesome! UVM does not have a law school (which is where you would go after your undergrad degree to become a lawyer), but they would have courses and help you decide in a degree to help you get into law school. Law schools, unlike medical schools, do not require specific courses for admission. A nice thing about UVM is that you will get an academic adviser who will guide you through your courses to help you get where you want to be after graduation!

\nUVM does have different colleges within the university to help accommodate all of the different majors. I was in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. When applying this seemed a little overwhelming because I did not want to have to apply different colleges while applying to one university. But it ended up being really nice! Unless you change from law to med will you have to change colleges within the school...If that makes any sense.

\nTo get kicked out of school you either have to try to get kicked out, or have to not try at all. To try to get kicked out you would have get in trouble multiple times for drugs and\/or alcohol. UVM does not allow drugs or alcohol in the dorms, which you have to live in your first and second year. If you got into A LOT of trouble the first time you could get kicked out, but you're smarter than that- you're going to be lawyer!

\nIt is easier to get kicked out for being mean and intolerant of others, but UVM does try to work with all of its students.

\nIf you do no work at all academically, you can be tossed out of school for bad grades. Again, I don't think that would apply to you.

\nA fun fact about UVM...On the last day of classes (for both fall and spring semester) there is a naked bike ride. Yes, a naked bike ride! On campus, two times during the school year a lot of students participate in the naked bike ride to celebrate classes being over - and this happens regardless of snow, rain, and cold! In Vermont you can legally be naked outside as long as you leave your house naked (it's illegal to de-robe in public).

\nYes, I am very serious about the naked bike ride haha. It's hilarious! I did play varsity ice hockey at UVM, but only for one year. Playing there was a lot of and a lot of work!

\nThe class set up was very different from high school (which I loved!). I had to be a full time student, which meant taking 12 credits or more. Each class is given a certain number of credits; some were 2 (usually online classes), most were 3 credit (like a history or psychology class); and a few were 4 credits (those were the science classes that also had a lab). So, on average I took 4-5 classes a semester, or about 12-15 credits a semester. To graduate from UVM I needed a total of 125 credits (seems like a lot, but over 4 years its easy!).

\nThe times classes are depends on what classes you want to take, or sometimes the classes you have to take because they are required for your major. Some semesters I was done with class by 11AM every day; others I had no class on Tuesday and Thursday; and a few of my friends never had class on a Friday. You can (most of the time) make the class schedule that you want! And that is true for most colleges, not just UVM! I really liked getting to decide when my classes would start and end.

I want to be a veterinarian, so I still have to go to vet school (another four years of schooling). Currently, I am working as a veterinary technician. I love helping people and their animals!
